Thigh Lift?

The thighs are a common problem area and can be a source of insecurity but you don’t have to confine them to long pants year-round. A thigh lift can give you firm, shapely legs. The procedure involves the removal of excess skin and fat from either the inner- or outer-thighs. Liposuction may be used to further recontour the inner thighs. Substantial weight loss from dieting or bariatric surgery or even aging, can lead to excess tissue on the upper thighs that no amount of exercise can fix. The candidates for the procedure are committed to a healthy lifestyle and are at a moderate weight. If this is you, a thigh lift can help you restore the youthful contours of your legs.

The procedure is usually performed under general anesthesia or, in some cases, local anesthesia and sedation. With an inner thigh lift, Dr. Jung makes an incision in the groin area and excises the excess fat and skin. He then recontours the area from the groin to the knee before smoothing the skin over the new contour. If necessary, liposuction can also be used but it will depend on your individual case. He repeats the procedure on the other side. With an outer thigh lift, excess skin and fat are removed and the buttocks may also be recontoured.

Op Care

Prior to surgery, Dr. Jung will evaluate you and discuss your needs to determine the approach and decide if you’re a good candidate for a thigh lift. He’ll give you specific instructions to follow leading up to the procedure.

Immediately after surgery, you’ll be able to see results, though there will be a period of bruising and swelling. You’ll be given medication to control soreness, as well as a compression garment to wear in order to help with the contouring of the skin. Typically it takes about six to eight weeks for full recovery. Once healed, you’ll enjoy permanent results.
