Fat grafting?

When you’re young, you have the benefit of an evenly distributed cushion of fat underneath the skin, but as the years go by, we lose volume, particularly in areas like the cheeks and lips, and also develop wrinkles and creases. Now, you can restore a youthful contour and smoother skin without synthetic materials. Facial fat grafting uses your own fat from other areas of the body, such as the thighs, butt, hips or stomach, to augment the lips or cheeks, fix depressions in the skin and fill in facial creases, wrinkles, lines and folds.

Dr. Jung makes an incision at the donor site, which is commonly the abdomen, thighs, buttocks or hips, and withdraws fat with liposuction or a syringe. He then injects the areas of the face that require volume with the fat and massages so the fat will be evenly distributed.

Op Care

Prior to the procedure, Dr. Jung will give you instructions to follow, which may include avoiding smoking or certain medications. After fat grafting, most patients experience swelling and bruising, which can last two or three weeks. Over-the-counter pain medication is usually effective at managing any minor discomfort. You’ll be asked to massage the area during the recovery period. Don’t be alarmed if the injection site initially looks slightly overfilled, as the body absorbs some of the fat.
