Laser Rejuvenation?
Reset and refresh your skin from deep inside without surgery or injections with laser skin resurfacing, one of the newest and most popular technologies for rejuvenating aged, lined skin. The short procedure takes years off your face with minimal downtime. Collagen production slows down thanks to the aging process, sun exposure and even pollution, leaving skin wrinkled, dull and less supple. Skin resurfacing and rejuvenating lasers give our body’s collagen production a boost by delivering light (heat) through the skin’s top layer, or epidermis, down into its underlying layer (dermis), at varying but extremely precise depths. This results in younger, smoother, more even skin.
One of the biggest breakthroughs in laser skin treatments is “fraxel” or fractionated CO2 laser resurfacing, which delivers heat in a fractional manner by splitting the laser light into thousands of microscopic columns of heat. The targeted skin cells within the columns are destroyed but the surrounding tissue is left unharmed. If you suffer from moderate lines and wrinkles, benign pigmented lesions, or sun spots, acne scars, poor skin texture, uneven coloration or skin laxity, CO2 fractional deep skin resurfacing may be the answer. We also have more aggressive laser options that allow for deeper penetration of the skin and excellent results but come with a longer recovery period.

TREATMENT
Considerations
Dr. Jung will meet with you, assess your skin and find out about your treatment goals. Based on your skin type and the depth of your wrinkles, he can help determine whether or not you’ll receive the most benefit from the fractional laser (good results with four to five days of recovery) or full laser (excellent results with 12 to 14 days of recovery).
The treatment can take as little as 30 minutes but the duration will depend on the extent of your procedure. Dr. Jung will numb the treatment area with a local anesthetic before delivering pulses of laser energy to the skin through a handheld device. He’ll finish up by applying a surgical dressing to your skin.
PRE + POST
Op Care
Dr. Jung will give you specific instructions to follow prior to your laser treatment. After the procedure, you’ll want to leave the dressing in place for 24 hours. He may give you topical treatments to apply to speed up healing. Your skin will be tender and red, almost as if you have a sunburn, for a few days. This is normal. Recovery time will depend on the laser treatment you received. Most patients have a four to five day recovery with the fractional laser and a 12 to 14 day recovery period with the full laser. The results will be significant and noticeable. The skin will continue to improve for about six months after your procedure if you follow good skincare practices and limit sun exposure.
